Winter Wonder-kitchen
A lovely couple came to our office this past winter, insisting that the kitchen in their new home not only needed work but was very, very cold. As it turned out, the temperature issue was the result of a family of small animals taking up residence in the crawl space below our clients’ kitchen, but that’s a story for another day.
There wasn’t much to enjoy about our clients’ old kitchen with it’s outdated ceramic floors, stained Corian countertops, bizarre mix of lighting fixtures and a work triangle that just didn’t work. So that’s where the Wyanoke team got to work. After fixing the work triangle, we increased their usable countertop area, made room for some informal seating within the kitchen and renovated the small powder room situated just off their kitchen as well.
The cold tile floor was replaced with new custom-stained white oak floors, the exterior walls were reinstalled, and the newly installed sheetrock received several coats of durable Benjamin Moore paints. The custom inset cabinets by Plain & Fancy Montclair both took full advantage of every inch of space the kitchen had to offer and, thanks to their built-in LED lighting, provide crisp illumination of the beautiful porcelain backsplash and custom-honed quartzite countertops from Dente Trading. Finishing touches include plumbing Kohler and Moen plumbing fixtures from General Plumbing Supply, an Andersen patio door and wood molding from West Essex Building Supply, sleek induction range from Samsung and an unforgettable custom-fabricated copper hood.
Since completing their kitchen, our client asked us back to make improvements to the bathrooms throughout their house. Be sure to check back soon for updates and images of those projects as well!
