Center Hall Colonial Basement
In order to provide a Montclair family with a kids playroom, new bathroom and larger laundry room, Wyanoke Builders redesigned and built out the entire basement of this early 20th century center hall colonial. A large TV/play area with custom-built shelving and built-ins was created, made possible only by relocating the bathroom and laundry room to the opposite corner of the basement. Nearly 4 inches of headroom were reclaimed by relocating all exposed wiring and piping and a new room was built to disguise the house’s mechanical equipment.
By installing a new french drain system and using mold-resistant insulation and wall boards, Wyanoke Builders both protected and maximized the value of the homeowner’s investment. Finishes throughout the space included FreeFit Vinyl floors, Italian marble floors in the bathroom and laundry room, Toto, Kohler and Grohe plumbing fixtures, Frigidaire appliances and a custom shower assembly with frameless glass enclosure.
