Old House, New Family
What happens when a young family moves into a house previously occupied by an elderly couple? A LOT is what happens!
Starting things off was the kitchen renovation which included custom painted, frameless cabinetry from Plain & Fancy, super white quartzite countertops from Dente Trading, a stainless appliance suite from GE Cafe and other touches including a subway tile backsplash and Kohler Whitehaven farmhouse sink. In an effort to revitalize the very formal dining room, updated light fixtures were installed, the wood floor was stained (as were all of the floors throughout the house), a new wallpaper wainscot was applied and most significantly, the wall which once separated the dining room to the kitchen was removed altogether – creating a much brighter, open space for the family to occupy.
The living room received an upgraded fireplace surround including custom-built shelving and a wall-mounted TV with wireless sound bar. New modular FLOR carpet tile and a playful wallpaper from Osborne & Little helped convert the den on the lower level into the children’s playroom. All rooms throughout the house were repainted using non-VOC Benjamin Moore products including the bathrooms which received new frameless glass enclosures, fixtures from Kohler and Moen and tile from Standard Tile and Porcelanosa.
